UUCLC is a Welcoming Congregation, recognized by the Unitarian Universalist Association since June 24, 2012. This means we affirm and include people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer at every level of congregational life—in worship, in program, and in social occasions—welcoming them as whole people.

At Harbor House, we’re determined to break the cycle of domestic abuse from one generation to the next. Preventing abuse means everyone has to recognize what a healthy relationship is in addition to the warning signs of an unhealthy one. Healthy communities are ones that do not tolerate abuse and speak out when they see it. To this end, we target five distinct groups in our efforts: First Responders; Businesses; Faith organizations; Youth; and the General Community.

Unit Plan 12.webp

People around the world face violence and inequality—and sometimes torture, even execution—because of who they love, how they look, or who they are. Sexual orientation and gender identity are integral aspects of our selves and should never lead to discrimination or abuse. Human Rights Watch works for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender peoples' rights, and with activists representing a multiplicity of identities and issues.

Equality Florida is the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community.

Our strong presence in the Capitol since our founding over 25 years ago has allowed us to defeat or neutralize dozens of anti-LGBTQ bills since 1997. These bills included efforts to: overturn all local anti-discrimination policies, repeal all safe schools policies, expand Florida’s anti-gay adoption ban, and prohibit domestic partnership benefits and protections.

Through lobbying, grassroots organizing, education, and coalition building, we are changing Florida so that no one suffers harassment or discrimination on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.
